Products for managing bedwetting
Bedwetting is the most common form of incontinence. Although we accept that up to 50% of the elderly will suffer, many of our younger customers are surprised to discover that an estimated 2-6% of young adults and teenagers, and up to 20% of six-year olds are regular bedwetters.
Bedwetters fall into two main groups, a) those who dribble or release small amounts all night or b) those who have a normal daytime bladder control and therefore release a large amount at each wetting. Whilst disposable products can usually cope with people in the first group, our customers who are in the second group inform us that they often suffer from leakage when using disposables. The most likely reason is that the disposables bunch-up during the night and as they have little or no wadding at the sides, offer poor protection to those who sleep on their sides.
These customers ask us to recommend waterproof pants for use over their disposable, to protect their night-clothes and their bedding. However, waterproof pants will not contain liquid they only provide a waterproof cover over an absorbent material which soaks up the loss. We offer a number of suitable products to effectively manage bedwetting and protect your night-clothes and bedding.
Terry Towelling Nappies (UK customers only).
These can be used as a replacement for disposable briefs and are suitable for very heavy bedwetting. They are fully machine washable and can be tumble dried. Many customers who wear disposables during the day find that using terry nappies at night helps them to maintain a healthy skin, as chemicals are used in the manufacture of disposable products which can cause skin irritation.
These pull-on briefs have a double layer of very thick terry towelling and can therefore be used on their own (with waterproof pants) for light to medium bedwetting. They can also be used as an additional soaker (with waterproof pants) for customers using disposable briefs and pull-ups. They are fully machine washable and can be tumble dried. To ensure a comfortable fit, these will be manufactured to your supplied measurements.
Lined waterproof plastic pants.
As an alternative to separate garments, we offer waterproof pants (WPL) with an integral absorbent material. These are ideal for light incontinence or for wearing as additional protection over disposable briefs or pull-ups. Our made-to-measure terry towelling lined pants are available in pull-up or side-snap fastening styles. Please remember to include your measurements on your order form.

| Our Unipad Quickdry offers all the advantages of similar pads available in U.K. high street stores, but the absence of an integral waterproof backing enables drying time (and tumble-dryer costs) to be greatly reduced. They must of course be used with either our low-cost waterproof draw sheets or mattress covers. These pads can hold up to 3 litres of urine in the special wadding under the stay-dry cover. They can be machine washed at 60 C, or 75 C for 5 minutes, or 90 C for 3 minutes. | |||
"Actifresh" treatment ensures a hygienic surface by preventing the development of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Some of the micro-organisms against which "Actifresh" is effective are those associated with bed sores, boils skin infections, body odour and perspiration, urino-genital infections and many more. Our vinyl meets the flameproofing requirements of Type 1B British Standard 1763 - 1975 and all sheeting is tested to British Standards 3878 (1965), 3210 (1959) as required by the majority of U.K. health authorities.
